Prof. Dr. Juan José Uriarte Díaz
Ingeniero Biomédico, investigador y docente enfocado en la ingeniería aplicada en áreas clave de la medicina regenerativa. Su investigación se centra en la MECANOBIOLOGÍA, un campo que explora cómo los cambios del microambiente influyen en las respuestas de las células y los tejidos. En particular, estudio el papel de la matriz extracelular (ECM) en las patologías pulmonares. Como educador promueve el aprendizaje experiencial y la investigación traslacional, integrando enfoques interdisciplinarios y tecnológicos que enriquecen la experiencia de los estudiantes, desde un punto de vista multidisciplinar.

Doctor por la Universitat de Barcelona con la tesis Multiscale lung tissue mechanics in a mouse model of marfan syndrome 2016. Dirigida por Dr/a. Ramón Farré Ventura, Dr/a. Daniel Navajas Navarro.
He is a Biomedical Engineer, researcher, and educator specializing in engineering applications for regenerative medicine. His research focuses on mechanobiology, a field that investigates how changes in the cellular microenvironment influence the behavior of cells and tissues. In particular, his work examines the role of the extracellular matrix (ECM) in the development and progression of pulmonary diseases. As an educator, he promotes experiential learning and translational research, integrating interdisciplinary and technology-driven approaches that enhance students' educational experience from a multidisciplinary perspective.
He is a member of the ARIES Research Group (Nebrija Research Group in Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Systems).
He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Barcelona in 2016 with the dissertation Multiscale Lung Tissue Mechanics in a Mouse Model of Marfan Syndrome, supervised by Dr. Ramón Farré Ventura and Dr. Daniel Navajas Navarro.
